We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our dynamic and innovative team as a Site Reliability Engineer.

As a SRE, you will contribute significantly to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Kubernetes-based infrastructure and applications as well contributing to the day to day support of our clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role in a Linux-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration, server setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with various Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and their specific management tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation purposes.
  • Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in Linux environments.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, and experience with network configuration in Linux systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies like Docker and their integration with Kubernetes
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and an eagerness to learn and work with their Kubernetes offerings (Nice to have)
  • Basic understanding of monitoring and observability tools used in Kubernetes environments (Nice to have)
  • Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and exposure to tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD. (Nice to have)
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts and familiarity with deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters (Nice to have)

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters, under the guidance of senior team members
  • Dealing with day to day support requests 
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of Kubernetes-based services, helping to identify and resolve issues to ensure smooth operation
  • Collaborate with the team to implement monitoring and alerting solutions, and assist in troubleshooting and resolving incidents
  • Contribute to the improvement of system reliability and performance through automation and configuration management practices
  • Support the documentation efforts by maintaining clear and up-to-date procedures and troubleshooting guides
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during critical incidents, learning from experienced team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and deployment of applications on Kubernetes clusters
  • Communicate effectively within the team, sharing ideas, insights, and challenges to contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment
