Environments
Give each site staging and development copies, each with its own files, database, address and SSH port.
Environments, step by step
-
1
Create an environment
Name it, choose Staging or Development and a size, and start empty or from a copy.
-
2
Work on a protected copy
Staging and development ask for a password, stay out of search engines and hold outgoing email.
-
3
Clone between environments
Copy files, the database or both onto another environment. A safety snapshot of the target comes first.
-
4
Push to live
Type the domain to confirm. Production is snapshotted first and restored on its own if the push fails.
Questions about environments
Not without the password. Staging and development are password-protected from the start, every address tells search engines not to index it, and outgoing email is held, so customers receive nothing.
Production gets a safety snapshot before anything changes. If the copy fails, production is restored from it automatically and the live site is as it was. Production is offline for a few minutes during a push, so pick a quiet time.
Yes, the same way sites do. Each one uses CPU, memory and disk, and new ones wait when the cluster passes 90% of any of the three. There is no fixed limit on how many you create.

Tell us how many sites you run and on what. An engineer sizes a cluster with you and shows you the panel on a live one.
